When every hour counts – modernization of the roof at an operating production plant in Chojnice

Modernizing the roof of an existing production facility isn't just about construction. It's a precise operation—time-constrained, demanding, and with zero margin for error. The work included securing all possible components and dismantling the old roof (dividing it into work plots), followed by the installation of a new roof covering, supplementing the steel structure, and installing new skylights.
Challenge
- Time window: 4 weeks – exactly the length of the plant's technological shutdown
- Conditions: Mid-summer – storms, heatwaves, and changeable weather
- Goal: to modernize the roof while maintaining full safety in the hall within the assumed time window
Effect:
- The roof was modernized on time
- Production started as planned
- The facility gained a safe, durable, and energy-efficient envelope for years to come
Every stage was meticulously planned: from the removal of the old cladding, through securing the process lines, to the installation of the new roof system. Every decision – from material selection to work organization – was crucial. A team of engineers, roofers, and logistics coordinators worked 24/7, reacting to changing weather conditions and ensuring that any precipitation did not threaten the machinery below. Waste from the dismantling was disposed of in accordance with regulations, and the investor was kept up-to-date on progress. This was a project in which trust, planning, and collaboration were paramount. Because in projects where there is no room for error, these three elements are crucial to success.
